New York City FC will join with Mayor de Blasio new partnership with Adidas

New York, NY – New York City FC will join with Mayor de Blasio today Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at 12:00pm at the Millbrook Playground in Bronx for Foundation and Adidas to kick off proposal.

The New York City Soccer Initiative a first of its kind public- private partnership that will build 50 soccer fields in underserved neighborhoods throughout the city over five years. At the event, we will announce the sites for the first eight fields to be built within the first year, one of which will be located at Millbrook Playground, the site of today’s event.

Following the speaking program, New York City FC players, Head Coach and Sporting Director will run mini soccer games with children from the Soccer for Success youth program
and interviews will be available with New York FC representatives.

New York City FC, Mayor de Blasio, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, and Adidas Make Announcement on New Community Initiative, and will join guests includes:

New York City FC President Jon Patricof, Patrick Vieira, New York City FC Sporting Director Claudio Reyna; Forward David Villa, New York City FC Midfielder Frank Lampard, Defender Jason Hernandez, U.S. Soccer Foundation President Ed Foster-Simeon and Adidas Head of Soccer Ernesto Bruce.
