New York City Marathon 2018

New York — More than 50,000 people participated in the New York City Marathon this year. The world-famous race, which took place on Nov. 4, 2018, drew entrants from across the country and around the world and took runners through all five boroughs of New York.

The woman’s winner, for the fourth time, was Mary Keitany of Kenya, finishing at 2:22:48, while Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia took the men’s title with a time of 2:05:59. Daniel Romanchuk (1:36:21) and Manuela Schar (1:50:27) won their respective wheelchair divisions.

With 99.99% of the participants in the race have no chance at victory, and for many the primary goal is just to finish the cause without collapsing.
