Stephan Lichtsteiner possible move to MLS
|Breking news: The current Juventus dynasty is set to move on, and it’s rumored he could make a move to MLS this summer.
According to EuroSport in Italy reported on Monday that Stephan Lichtsteiner, who announced he would be departing the Serie a powerhouse at the end of the season, has had a couple of MLS clubs looking at him.
Lichtsteiner, 34, has been at Juventus since 2011. He’s won six consecutive Serie A titles and is on track for a seventh this season. He’s won three Coppa Italias at the Turin club and has helped the team reach two Champions League finals. Prior to that, he played for Lazio, where he won another Coppa Italia, at French club Lille and in his native Switzerland for Grasshopper.
While he’s been largely a role player in his time at Juventus, Lichtsteiner is one of the most versatile players in the European elite. Capable of playing all along the right side, he’s made appearances throughout the outfield in his professional career.
Lichtsteiner is also current captain of Switzerland, and is expected to lead his country at the World Cup this summer in Russia.
