Real Madrid drop Eden Hazard

Real Madrid drop Eden Hazard interest following Zinedine Zidane existing. Chelsea will reportedly offer Eden Hazard a new contract after the World Cup.

According to Standard Sport, the former France midfielder was keen for the Spanish club to make an offer for Hazard this summer and had played a key part in keeping the Belgian forward at the forefront of Real’s transfer plans.

Since his exit, however, Hazard has swiftly fallen down the list of Real’s transfer window priorities with a move for the 27-year-old unlikely as it has been since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

Speculation surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale was rife following the pair’s comments after the Champions League final, but both are increasingly like to stay at the club as another consequence of Zidane’s exit.

The chances of Hazard signing while both superstars are still at the Bernabeu are near to impossible.

Real Madrid chiefs also want Isco and Marco Asensio to feature more prominently in the first-team next season, leaving no space in the squad for another top quality attacker.

Chelsea will hold further negotiations with Hazard after the World Cup and plan to offer him a deal that will increase his salary from £200,000-a-week to £300,000-a-week.
