Actor and Comedian Bob Saget has died
|The Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of actor and comedian Bob Saget on Sunday, Saget was 65 years old.
In a tweet, the sheriff’s office said deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando “for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room.”
The sheriff’s office identified the man as Robert Saget, pronouncing him dead at the scene. According to the tweet, detectives said they found no signs of foul play or drug use.
Deputies said the Medical Examiner’s Office will determine Saget’s cause of death. Saget was in Florida over the weekend on his comedy tour “Bob Saget: I Don’t Do Negative Tour.”
He had stops in Orlando on Friday and Ponte Vedra Beach on Saturday.
Saget was well known for his stint on Full House as Danny Tanner, along with many acting, hosting and stand-up gigs throughout the years.
Bob Sager is of Jewish descent – he briefly lived in California during his youth before moving back to his birth city in Philadelphia. At a young age he aspired to become a doctor, but one of his teachers urged him to pursue an acting career. After matriculating from high school, he enrolled at Temple University where he produced the film “Through Adam’s Eyes” which won him an award.
After graduating in 1978, he furthered his studies by enrolling at the University of Southern California (USC) but left just a few days into his postgraduate studies. One of his first projects was “The Morning Program” but what defined his career was 1987’s “Full House” which was a success. The show follows the life of a sports anchor who moves in with some friends to help raise his children after his wife passed away. He played the role of Danny Tanner, the main character of the show. The show was a modest success in the late 1980s and eventually became an international hit in the 1990s.
