The first half was terrible for both sites. Neither team could find its groove, Atlanta especially for shooting percentage hovered just 30 from the floor. The Knicks weren’t much better, thought guards Iman Schumpeter and Tim Hardaway jr. found their rhythm early on.
Forward Paul Millsap struggled with his efficiently toward the beginning and end of the game, he finished with a team high 10 points.
Kyle Korver was equally troubled from the floor, shooting just 4-of-13, but he finished with respectable scoring total of 17.
Atlanta’s free throw shooting they finished 27 of 28 from the strip and clutch play from point guard Dennis Schroder. He effectively replaced Jeff Teague who despite logging minutes, was a complete non factor for Atlanta on both ends. Atlanta at the ends pulled out the win.
New York Knicks now 2-6, will look to rebound this Wednesday night against Orlando Magic, while Atlanta 3-3 next draws Utah.
