Atlanta Hawks vs. Timberwolves
|During the NBA season Timberwolves wanted to give their fans a little refresher on what has been a busy offseason. For next two months, the will releasing season outlooks for teams throughout the NBA.
But, for the Atlanta Hawks had a pretty unusual offseason, the team lost two All-Stars, one by choice, in trading Jeff Teague to Indiana to make room for the emerging Dennis Schroder, not only loosing Pero Antic also biggest hit was losing Al Horford in free agency to the Boston Celtics.
Horford wasn’t the greatest past year, but we do know has four-time All-Star, spent his first nine seasons in Atlanta. To lose him just like that, well, that hurts pretty badly. In my opinion Hawks were best team in 2013-14. After that Hawks loose their best players.
After Hawks replaced Horford with Dwight Howard, which would have been much better in 2010. But it’s not. Things weren’t great last season in Houston, but neither was Howard. He averaged just 13.7 points, his lowest mark since 2004-05, his rookie season. He’s still capable as a big man. He did averaged 11.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game last season. He can still play, but overall, it’s probably a downgrade from Horford.
With help through the draft, the Hawks added some depth at the wing position. A lot of the season will depend on what Schroder does. Schroder is a solid defender and brings tons of energy, but he still makes plays that make you scratch your head. But then he’ll come right back and do something spectacular.
The team was able to beat Boston in the first round of the playoffs last season, but the Celtics were a beat-up squad. The expectations for 2015-16 will be the playoffs, but they’ll have to do it without a few familiar faces.
Keyou points to know Dwight Howard in (free agent), PG. Jarrett Jack (free agent), SG. Malcolm Delaney (free agent), SF. Taurean Prince (trade, draft), SF. DeAndre’ Bembry (draft). Key Loses: . Al Horford (free agency, Celtics), PG. Jeff Teague (trade, Pacers), PG. Kirk Hinrich (free agent)
Hawks against the Wolves, unfortunately they have lost both games to the Wolves last season. The first lost came on Nov. 9 when the Wolves won 117-107 behind 33 points from Andrew Wiggins. The second loss came on Nov. 25 at the Target Center when the Wolves won 99-95. Nobody was great for Minnesota, but five players hit double-digits.
