Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios Fined!
|Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios another one of his gigs, this time played with water after appearing to mimic a sex act during his Queen’s Club Championship clash against Marin Cilic.
The British broadcaster BBC were forced to issue a live apology to it’s viewers after cameras caught Kyrgios fooling around prior to the semi-final.
The Australian’s successful tournament run was ended by the Croatian, as he went down 7-6, 7-6 at the Wimbledon warm up event.
Kyrgios was playing around with his water bottle before using it as a prop for his cheap gag, finishing off by squirting a bit of water and flashing a sheepish grin towards someone in the crowd.
The 23-year-old has had no shortage of controversies in his short career, and this is one that fans on social media noticed almost immediately.
Kyrgios, who beat British pair Andy Murray and Kyle Edmund this week, was satisfied with his work after he followed up a run to the final in Stuttgart last week his last four appearance at Queen’s.
His serving is in a particularly good place as he served 98 aces in his four outings, twice achieving a personal best of 32 in a match.
“It was a pretty successful couple of weeks, obviously given being out for two-and-a-half months before that.
“I feel confident for Wimbledon, for sure. There’s a lot of grass court players.
“I mean, the grand slams are totally different. Best-of-five sets – there’s a lot more momentum swings.
“The last couple of weeks, I feel pretty untouchable on serve. Today I just didn’t have any chances to break at all.”
World No.6 Cilic did not offer up one break point opportunity in their one hour and 25 minute meeting.
