Brooklyn Nets play in London

New York — The NBA commissioner David Stern announced today that they are expanding their 2013-14 NBA Global Games to include eight pre-season games and two regular season games to be played internationally. He believes most teams to play internationally in a single season in the history of the NBA.

Among the regular season games will be a January 16, 2014, meeting between the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks in London. The game is said to be a home game for the Hawks.

Deron Williams said to the sources, “It is always an honor to represent the league overseas. Playing in London has a playoff-like intensity, and the energy in the building is great for the players on both teams. It should be very exciting.”
