Chicago Fire signed two players SuperDraft
|CHICAGO (Feb. 28, 2018) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced Wednesday that the club has signed MLS SuperDraft picks Diego Campos and Elliot Collier for the 2018 season with club options for 2019, 2020 and 2021.
“Diego and Elliot have each demonstrated a good level of talent in the attacking phase of the game. Importantly, they have also exhibited a hungry attitude to improve and compete relentlessly,” said Fire president and general manager Nelson Rodríguez.
Campos was selected in the second round (38th overall) from Clemson University. In 81 career games for the Tigers, Campos scored 23 goals and tallied 22 assists. The San Jose, Costa Rica native was named All-South Region First Team and First Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference in his senior season.
A Fire PDL product, Collier was selected in the third round (49th overall) after appearing in 69 games over the course of four seasons at Loyola University Chicago, where he scored 15 goals and tallied 11 assists. The Hamilton, New Zealand native was named First Team All-Missouri Valley Conference in his senior season.
