Chicago Fire Travel to Face Toronto FC
|The next match for Chicago Fire with (2-3-1, 7 points) travel to face defending MLS Cup champions Toronto FC (1-4-0, 3 points) at BMO Field on Saturday, April 28 at 2 p.m. CT.
Saturday’s match will be the first Fire match on ESPN+ at the new direct-to-consumer streaming service integrated completely in the ESPN Mobile App.
The match will also be available on Univision Deportes Chicago 1200AM. The Fire are 9-9-8 all-time in regular season meetings against Toronto FC, including a 4-7-3 record in matches played at BMO Field.
Two current Fire players spent time with Toronto FC in 2011. Forward Alan Gordon scored four goals and added one assist in eight matches before departing for San Jose in July. Midfielder Tony Tchani scored one goal in 13 appearances before he was traded to Columbus Crew SC in July.
CHICAGO FIRE ACADEMY TEAMS GO 2-1-2 IN U.S. SOCCER DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY PLAY
The Chicago Fire Academy teams traveled to face Vardar in Rochester, Mich. on Saturday, April 21 and played to a combined 2-1-2 record in U.S. Soccer Development Academy action.
The U-13s played to a scoreless draw while the U-14s dropped their match 1-0.
Goals from Brian Gutierrez, Luca Iaccino and Richard Flemming led the U-15s to a 3-0 win.
The U-17s earned a point in a 1-1 draw courtesy of a goal from Stefan Imbronjev.
The U-19s rode an Andrew Akindele strike and a Jonathan Hernandez brace to a 3-0 victory.
Next up in USSDA action, the Fire take on Sockers FC on the Nike Park Turf Field in Naperville, Ill. on Saturday, April 28.
CHICAGO FIRE TO OFFER BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER BOBBLEHEAD TICKET PACKAGE
The Chicago Fire have launched the Bastian Schweinsteiger Bobblehead Ticket Package, offering fans one ticket each to the May 5 and July 11 home matches along with a limited-edition Bastian Schweinsteiger bobblehead figurine.
Fans have the option to choose from Club, Premier or Corner Kick seat locations for their pair of tickets.
Fans who order the Bastian Schweinsteiger Bobblehead Ticket Package will be able to pick up their bobblehead at the July 11 match against the Philadelphia Union. The July 11 match will additionally feature Postmatch Fireworks courtesy of the Chicago Fire.
