Detroit without Jackson

Accprding to Pistons head coach Stan Van Gundy met with the media, told Rod Beard of The Detroit News, Jackson “is going to be out for a while,” and by a while he means 6-8 weeks.

Right now the Pistons Ish Smith will be slated to start for the Pistons. In Stein’s original report, he thought that the Pistons would explore the “point guard market” but it doesn’t appear a trade would be the solution.

From other branch has been brought out earlier in the day there are a few possible options for the Pistons at PG in the free agent market.

Two players that might draw the Pistons’ interest are Mario Chalmers and Norris Cole.

Chalmers, 30, averaged 10.3 points and 3.8 assists in 61 games last season with the Miami Heat and Memphis Grizzlies, although he is coming off a torn achilles suffered last March. Cole, 27, averaged 10.6 and 3.7 in 45 games with the New Orleans Pelicans. Per rotoworld.com, he has signed a contract in the Chinese Basketball Association but would be allowed to return to the NBA should the opportunity arise.

With the loss of Jackson to start the season, do you still think the Pistons can make a playoff push! But is to early to say.
