Dolly, whose first song charted in 1964, holds multiple records: most No. 1 hits for a female artist, most career Top 10 country albums for a female artist, and she’s tied with Beyoncé for most Grammy nominations for a female artist. Dolly who also happens to be Miley Cyrus’ godmother, no wonder why Miley has grown up from celeb child.
Although she hasn’t had a fresh musical hit in ages, Dolly remains the most-honored female country artist of all time: If there was a Mount Rushmore of female country music, her famously surgically enhanced image would be on it. In December 2015, NBC will air “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors,” a holiday movie based on Dolly’s remarkable upbringing in rural Tennessee.
