FC Dallas to hosts Atlanta for the first time ever at Toyota Stadium
FC Dallas (9-2-5, 32 points) hosts Atlanta United FC (11-3-4, 37 points) on Wednesday, July 4 at Toyota Stadium in a match presented by CoServ. This is the only meeting of the season between the two clubs and is Atlanta’s first-ever trip to Toyota Stadium. FC Dallas lost 3-0 last season in Atlanta.
Immediately following the conclusion of FC Dallas’ match against Atlanta United, Toyota Stadium will host the one of the largest fireworks shows in Dallas/Fort Worth in conjunction with Frisco Freedom Fest.
On July 4
Wednesday’s match will be FC Dallas’ 16th match it will play on July 4. Dallas is 7-4-4 on the holiday and has won the last four matches played on 7/4, outscoring opponents 13-3 since 2014. FCD hasn’t lost on July 4 since 2006 in a 1-0 loss to D.C. United. Roland Lamah (2), Michael Barrios (2), Maxi Urruti (1), Matt Hedges (1) and Tesho Akindele (1) have all scored goals on July 4.
Strong at Toyota Stadium
FC Dallas is currently 5-0-4 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. Dallas is one of five MLS teams that has not lost at home in 2018 joining NYCFC (7-0-1), Portland (4-0-2), DCU (1-0-1) and LAFC (4-0-3). Dallas is also unbeaten in its last 15 matches at Toyota Stadium posting seven wins and eights draws during that span. The stretch is the longest undefeated streak at home since the team played 19 games without a loss from August 29, 2015-September 3, 2016 (15W-4D).
Lamah & Urruti Are Producing
Since the start of the 2017 MLS regular season, Roland Lamah and Maxi Urruti have each scored 18 goals for FC Dallas. Lamah has scored a team-best seven in 2018 and netted 11 last season. Urruti has scored six in 2018 and 12 last season.
Pareja in July
Oscar Pareja has a 13-2-2 record (.824 winning percentage) in the month of July since becoming FC Dallas’ head coach in 2014. The only two losses were a 5-0 defeat to Seattle Sounders FC on July 13, 2016 and a 4-0 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps FC on July 29, 2017.
