First loss of NY Cosmos road match
|The Unbreakable NY Cosmos, during the game match on Saturday night June 19th againist Jacksonville Armada FC despite ending unbeaten streak of 11 matches. Since exiting at the 2014 Cosmos with 5-6-1 with great score of the semifinals last November in NASL.
Tommy Krizanovic had short range finish in the 54th minute propelled Armada FC of 4-3-7 to their fourth-home-win of the season. Cosmos in postgame with coach Giovanni Savarese, said, “We have been created chances , but unfortunately we couldn’t capitalize on those.”
The fist 17th minutes with powerful free kick from 30yards out Freeman’s effort beat Armada FC goalkeeper David Sierra, but game remained scoreless. During the second half Jacksonville made quick opportunity, Scaglia delivered a ball into the penalty area, aimed toward Jamie Castrillion and the Cosmos goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer. The ongoing foot of Krizanovic, appeared to be the one who knocked the ball in, for the first time in his NASL goal.
The midfielder rattled off a strike, in 88th minutes Walter Restrepo danced inside the penalty area, but Sierra deflected the potential high out of bounds.
Well Cosmos, have seen games with opportunity and they will have to get better for next and to put the opponent away. They will faced the next on the road to travel to face new challenge Indy Elven on Saturday, July 25th at the Michael A. Carroll Stadium, the kickoff will be selected for 7:30p.m.ET.
