George John

George John (born March 20, 1987) is an American football layer who plays for New York City FC in Major League Soccer. John is eligible to play for either the United States or Greece at the international level.

He start playing during youth age, and U-18 was a captain of his youth club leading the Crossfire Premier  I Division Championship and a U-18 Washington State Championship In 2011.

His professional career started, when he was John was drafted in the first round (14th overall) by FC Dallas in the 2009 MLS Super-Draft. He made his professional debut on 4 April 2009, in a game against the New England Revolution.

On January 13, 2012, John signed a two-month loan deal that sent him to West Ham United.  He was named to the MLS all-star team’s inactive list on July 31, 2013.

John spent the entire 2014 on injured reserve before being selected by New York City FC in the 2014 expansion draft on Dec. 10.  Selected by New York City FC in the 2014 MLS Expansion Draft on December 10th. He is eligible to play for both states, Greece and U.S.
