Hispanic Heritage Night with Goya at NYCFC, When?
|The New York City FC has announced the Club will host Hispanic Heritage Night presented by Goya Foods on Saturday, September 9 at 5:30 p.m. when the team faces the Portland Timbers at Yankee Stadium.
The match will feature various Hispanic elements including salsa lessons prior to the game on the outfield deck, a special national anthem performance by Tito Puente Jr. and his band, one of a kind “Vamos Celestes” scarves sold exclusively at the team store as part of the City Scarf Series, City Beats playing Latin songs throughout the game and a sampling of Goya products, amongst activities.
Fans are encouraged to bring country flags without poles to the stadium to show their Hispanic heritage pride. Additionally, groups of ten or more will receive a special co-branded NYCFC & Goya soccer ball, while supplies last. Group tickets can be purchased here by calling 855-77-NYCFC or emailing [email protected].
Jon Patricof, President of New York City FC, said:
“We are very excited to partner with Goya Foods to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Night. Hispanic culture is at the heart of both our Club and New York City year-round, so it’s only fitting we dedicate a special evening to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the diversity throughout the community.”
Rafael Toro, Director of Public Relations of Goya Foods, said:
“We’re proud to support NYCFC and what better way to celebrate our rich Latin culture and heritage than with the passionate fans that will fill up Yankee stadium on our night.”
Last week, Goya sponsored a cook off event with Goya Chef Fernando Desa at the Institute of Culinary Education in downtown Manhattan. Four winners from the #MyGoyaDish social media contest were partnered with four NYCFC players – Jack Harrison, Sean Johnson, Mikey Lopez and Ronald Matarrita – to see who could cook the best dish using Goya products.
