JoJo White reportedly present Hall of Fame

Former Boston legend star Jojo White, 68, reportedly presented Hall of Fame will attend this weekend’s ceremony in Springfield.  White, had a brain tumor removed five years ago. He couldn’t speak and was difficult for him to read his speech, at that time.

White played 10 seasons with the Celtics where he won two championships and was also the 1976 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player. After his 12-year NBA career ended, the seven-time All-Star became a community ambassador for the Celtics, who retired his No. 10 jersey.

The former University of Kansas star was a two-time second-team All-American and a member of the U.S.’ 1968 Olympic gold-medal basketball team.

During the Hall of Fame’s 60 Days of Summer program in July, according to Yahoo Sports,  White said, “I just wondered why (getting voted into the Hall of Fame) was taking so long.”

“I feel honored,” he added. “I knew if I never got a call like this, I loved the position I was in as a player. I loved the players I was playing with, and the organization I was playing for.”
