JOZY ALTIDORE NAMED TO MLS ALL-STAR GAME

Toronto FC announced that forward Jozy Altidore was named to the 2017 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target. The MLS All-Stars will face the reigning UEFA Champions League winners, Real Madrid at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois on Wednesday, August 2 at 9:00 p.m. ET. The match will broadcast on TSN in Canada.

Altidore, 27, has appeared in 19 matches registering nine goals and five assists (MLS and the Canadian Championship) for TFC this season. He was also named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 9 and was on the bench for Week 3.

This is Altidore’s second MLS All-Star team selection; he joins Michael Bradley and Sebastian Giovinco who were previously named the 2017 MLS All-Star Game Fan XI. Toronto FC’s all-time All-Star list includes: Ronnie O’Brien (2007), Jimmy Brennan (2008), Dwayne De Rosario (2009, 2010), Jermain Defoe (2014), Jozy Altidore (2015, 2017), Michael Bradley (2014, 2015, 2017) and Sebastian Giovinco (2015, 2016, 2017).
