NEW YORK CITY FC IN GUAYAQUIL TO FACE C.S. EMELEC

New York City FC travelled to Ecuador on Monday, February 6 in anticipation of the Club’s friendly match against C.S. Emelec which will take place Wednesday, February 8 in Guayaquil.
The match will air live from Estadio Banco del Pacifico – Capwell on NYCFC.com at 8 p.m. ET.
Supporting communities through the power of soccer continues to be a top priority for New York City FC and so the Club participated in two events in Guayaquil.

First, NYCFC President Jon Patricof and defenders Ronald Matarrita and Shannon Gomez paid a visit to La Aldea, a nonprofit that welcomes in children and keeps them safe. They greeted the kids by gifting soccer balls and equipment before kicking off mini street soccer games. The
Club then kicked it up a notch, presenting a check to La Aldea on behalf of Hearts of Oak (a
grassroots group of NYCFC supporters) who generously raised the funds for this donation.

After this, Andrea Pirlo, Sean Okoli, and Andre Rawls visited Torremar High School to take part in an hour-long soccer clinic with children aged 7-17. They helped the players develop their basic soccer skills, took part in a penalty shootout and finished by taking a group picture with all the children.

Later in the afternoon, the team headed to Estadio Banco del Pacifico – Capwell for a press conference featuring Head Coach Patrick Vieira and Team Captain David Villa followed by a full
team training session.
