New York Liberty defeat Phoenix Mercury

The New York Liberty has announced that defeat Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday night at Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Epiphanny Prince scored a game-high 24 points and hit the game-winner with just 4.5 seconds remaining to lift the New York Liberty to a 69-67 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday night at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
New York saw a 15-point second-half lead disappear, and trailed by 5 with fewer than three minutes to play, but ended the game on a 9-2 run, which began with a clutch Prince 3-pointer and ended as she drained the game-winning basket. Tina Charles also finished in double figures for the Liberty, recording her first double-double of the season with 22 points and 10 rebounds. The Liberty has now won three-straight games at Phoenix for the first time in the history of the series.
Epiphanny Prince made her first start for New York since game three of the 2015 Eastern Conference Finals on Sept. 29, 2015. Prince missed the first 26 games of the 2016 season after suffering a torn ACL while playing for her Russian club team Dynamo Kursk in Nov. 2015.

Prince finished with 24 points, her most in a regular season game since scoring 30 at Chicago on Aug. 7, 2015. That was also the last time Prince hit 4 3-pointers in a game.

Tina Charles finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the year. It was the 130 of her career, the second most in WNBA history. The New York has won three straight games at Phoenix for the first time in its history and leads the all-time series 25-18.

New York continues its two-game western road trip on Friday night when it takes on the Seattle Storm at Key Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 10 PM (ET).
