New York Liberty Waived two players Holmes and Higgins

NEW YORK – The New York Liberty today has announced that the team has waived forward Joyner Holmes.

Holmes 23 years old signed a training camp contract with the Liberty on February 2, 2021. Joyner spent her 2020 WNBA rookie season with New York where she averaged 2.9 points and 2.7 rebounds over 19 regular season contests. She played college basketball for the Texas.

Also the New York Liberty yesterday announced that the team has waived rookie guard Valerie Higgins.

Higgins, the Liberty’s 2021 third round pick (No. 25 overall), is the first WNBA draftee in University of the Pacific history. Valerie averaged 16.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 46.6% from the field in her 2020-21 redshirt senior campaign.
