New York Red Bulls vs Atlanta United FC

The Red Bulls will have an opportunity to directly take points from Atlanta United, who sit four points clear of New York atop the Eastern Conference with four games left in the regular season.

Both of New York’s Supporters’ Shield wins came in this decade (2013, 2015).

The last meeting between the two sides ended with a 3-1 win for New York over Atlanta at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. A win on Sunday would see the Red Bulls complete a regular season sweep over Atlanta United.

The Red Bulls hold an unbeaten 2-0-1 all-time record against Atlanta. After Sunday, the Red Bulls will not be back at home until October 28, when they welcome Orlando City SC to Red Bull Arena in their final match of the regular season.

New York will face San Jose and then Philadelphia on the road before they return home.

New York will have to find a way to score without Bradley Wright-Phillips on Sunday. The striker was suspended due to yellow card accumulation following a yellow card in the win versus Toronto.

Wright-Phillips’ suspension could be a chance for younger players to step up to the challenge of filling the void.

The Red Bulls will be hosting their third annual Todos Juntos event at Red Bull Arena before the match on Sunday.

A celebration of Hispanic culture, Todos Juntos will feature DJ Camillo, Dance/Street Team performances, food trucks, face painting, and more.
