Red Bulls became first team to clinch a berth in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs after their 2-0 win at the Portland Timbers last weekend, but now have their sights set on the Supporters’ Shield, which are tied for with West leaders Vancouver.
Orlando City are chasing a playoff spot in their first MLS campaign, starting the week one point below the red line behind sixth-place Montréal, after a second consecutive victory in a 1-0 win at the Chicago Fire last weekend. However, the Red Bulls concluding their two-game road swing with a 2-0 win at the Portland Timbers on Sunday afternoon at Providence Park. According to sources, Orlando City SC won their second game on the trot coming off a six-game winless run, Bryan Rochez scoring his second MLS goal for the game’s only tally in a victory against the Chicago Fire on Saturday evening at Toyota Park.
The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Sacha Kljestan and Mike Grella netted goals to lead the Red Bulls to a 2-0 victory July 18 at the Citrus Bowl.
