Nuggets another victory, defeat Celtics 115-107

The Denver Nuggets have topped the Boston Celtics 115-107 at Pepsi Center in Denver on Monday.  This is a 9-1 for Nuggets winning, seems a great start from the preseason and one of the best teams this season to watch for.

The Celtics managed to win the opener 34-19 and despite their loss in the second quarter, they went to their locker rooms with 56-54 advantage.

The hosts piled up the pressure after the break and won the next two sets that led to their eight-point victory.

Jamal Murray put on an impressive exhibition on Monday night, with high points in a win scored 48 points for the Nuggets. With a hot-shooting Murray, the magic of Nikola Jokic (8 points, 10 boards, and 8 assists against Boston), and one of the better two-way guards in Gary Harris (13 points, 5 boards, 3 assists, and 3 steals), Denver is really putting it all together early this season.

Murray: “I was trying to get 50, I didn’t mean no harm. … I shouldn’t have done it, but they understand I was trying to get 50.”

Kyrie Irving pocketed 31 points for the Boston Celtics.

Irving: “What kind of competitor wouldn’t it bother? … I don’t want to make a big deal out of it. Obviously I was pissed off after the game but it’s time to decompress and move on. Congratulations to him having 48 points … But the ball deserves to go in the crowd after a (expletive) move like that. So I threw it in the crowd.”

The Nuggets will travel to Memphis to visit the Grizzlies on Wednesday while the Celtics will travel to Phoenix to play against the Suns on Thursday.
