On Friday, Team USA faced Uruguay in a qualifying matchup, with a convincing 114-57 win. It took place at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, NV, as part of the Americas Qualifiers.

Hicks played a team-low 12 minutes, but still made his presence felt in this short time, with seven points and five rebounds on 3-for-3 shooting from the field. He also picked up four personal fouls.

Aside from Hicks, former Knick Chasson Randle stood out for his play. His 15 points were second highest on the team and the three hits from behind the arc led the way.

Led by former Knicks head coach Jeff Van Gundy, Team USA combined for 10-for-19 from three-point range and shot 60.8 percent from the field. They also had just eight turnovers in four quarters of action.

Team USA’s next qualifier takes place on the road against Panama on Monday, Sept. 17. Afterward, Preliminary Round games against Senegal, China and Latvia will follow from Saturday, Sept. 22 to Tuesday, Sept. 25, with the group that played in the Uruguay win.
