NY Red Bulls – Felipe Campanholi Martins
Felipe Campanholi Martins, 25-years old, commonly known as Felipe is a Brazilian footballer currently playing for New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer.
Felipe’s trade from Montreal on January 27, 2015. Has been a full time starter every year in his fifth year in MLS and second season with the Red Bulls. He started all 34 regular season matches to help New York to the 2015 Supporters’ Shield after arriving in an offseason trade with Montreal. He has 17 goals and 29 assists in 130 career MLS appearances.
Has been selected the MLS Player of the Week, over three weeks, since of the regular season by a panel of journalists from NASR. The group consists of members of print, television, radio and online media.
After growing up in an academy in Brazil he made his professional debut in Italy where he also holds citizenship. He spent 4 years in Switzerland splitting time between FC Winterthur, FC Lugano, and FC Wohlen before transferring to MLS.
Last game on Saturday, helped the club by scoring of stunning goal win over Houston, include Sacha Kljestan with dynamic movement and pin point passing, particularly in the final third. Kljestan kicked off the scoring, registering Red Bulls first goal of 2016.
