NYCFC declined the options
|NEW YORK – New York City FC announced on Dec. 4 it has declined the options on four contracts for the 2016 season and has exercised the contract options on 10 others.
The 2016 contracts options for Kwame Watson-Siriboe, Jeb Brovsky, Ned Grabavoy and Pablo Alvarez were declined.
Ned Grabavoy will be eligible for Free Agency. Kwame Watson-Siriboe and Jeb Brovsky will be eligible to participate in Major League Soccer’s Re-Entry Process.
Angelino, Shay Facey, Ryan Meara & Javier Calle have all returned to their original clubs after the expiration of their respective loan periods. Sebastian Velasquez’s contract has expired.
“We’d like to sincerely thank those players for their contributions for the Club’s historic inaugural season,” said Sporting Director Claudio Reyna. “We wish them the very best of luck in the future.”
The following players are already under contract for the 2016 season: Andoni Iraola, Chris Wingert, Jason Hernandez, Jefferson Mena, Andrew Jacobson, Andrea Pirlo, Mix Diskerud, Frank Lampard and David Villa.
New York City FC have exercised the 2016 contract options of Josh Saunders, Eirik Johansen, RJ Allen, Connor Brandt,
Mehdi Ballouchy, Kwadwo Poku, Tommy McNamara, Tony Taylor, Khiry Shelton and Patrick Mullins.
The Club has also announced the travelling roster for the Club’s upcoming friendly in Puerto Rico. The team will arrive in
Puerto Rico on Sunday Dec. 6 and will enjoy a week of warm weather training. New York City FC takes on the Puerto
Rican National Team on Friday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m. est (8:00 p.m. ast) from the Juan Ramón Loubriel Stadium in Bayamón.
