SAN LUIS POTOSI, MEXICO, February 12, 2018 – Press Release by the New York City FC are travelled to Mexico on Sunday, February 11th in advance of the Club’s friendly match against Atletico San Luis on Tuesday, February 13th in San Luis Potosi. The match against the second division Mexican club will take place 9:30 p.m. ET at Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramirez.

Supporting the community through the power of soccer continues to be a top priority for New York City FC and the Club was involved in a community event in San Luis Potosi.

On Monday morning, NYCFC players Ronald Matarrita, Maxi Moralez and Andre Rawls paid a visit to the Autismo DIF Centro de Diagnostico y Capacitacion where they joined the Fundación Amor por los Ninos, a foundation that supports children suffering from congenital heart disease and Autism Spectrum Disorders in San Luis Potosi, to promote inclusion in soccer.

The players greeted the children in their classroom to begin the special occasion. After a few minutes inside, everyone headed outside where the players gifted the staff with team scarfs and jerseys while the children lined up from soccer drills. With great coaching from the NYCFC boys, as well as a local youth side, the children aced the drills with flying colors.

Later in the afternoon, David Villa, Rodney Wallace and Alex Callens appeared at the El Dorado mall for an autograph session with three of their Atletico San Luis counterparts. A great crowd showed up to meet and take selfies with some of their footballing heroes.

The afternoon ended with a press conference at the Estadio Alfonso Lastras Ramirez featuring Head Coach Patrick Viera and Team Captain David Villa followed by a full team training.
