Kwadwo Poku lead the NYCFC

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kwadwo Poku scored his first-career Major League Soccer brace as New York City FC and Columbus Crew SC played to a 2-2 draw in front of 15,514 at MAPFRE Stadium on a rainy Wednesday night.   Poku made the  first-career in MLS brace and second this season, scored two goals in the U.S. Open Cup Fourth Round match against the Cosmos on June 17.

The New York City FC improve to 7-11-7 (28 points) now its in the level with Orlando City SC and Montreal Impact on points in the Eastern Conference, while the Crew are 9-8-8 (35 points) as the race to qualify for the MLS playoffs continues to intensify. The club has help from the new contracts players and that impact in positive achievements.

The score was tied at 2-all when referee Allen Chapman signaled for a halt in play in the 77th minute due to lightning in the area. The clock remained at 76:15 for 75 minutes before play resumed.

The Crew took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute on a goal by Kei Kamara, who extended his league-leading tally to 18 goals on the season. Ethan Finlay drove down the right side and crossed the ball to the middle as Kamara tapped it home.

The score remained 1-0 at halftime.New York City FC equalized in the 57th on a lovely give-and-go between Poku and David Villa.  The Ghanaian midfielder clipped the ball with the outside of his right foot into the far post to knot the match at 1-1. During 66-minute Poku put the club ahead finished with 2-2.
