Red Bulls welcome Los Angeles Football Club

The Red Bulls welcome Los Angeles Football Club to Red Bull Arena for the first time.

The team seems to set up when the lights shine brightest, according to Head Coach Chris Armas.

“It says a lot about our team, I’ll tell you that,” Armas said. “We’re understanding what the bigger games mean and what meeting those demands actually require. That’s from set pieces, run of play, deadball situations, throw ins. Just understanding that every play matters, never to take plays off, and again. meeting the demands of the bigger games.”

Coming off a loss at Red Bull Arena, the Red Bulls are looking to put on a better performance on Sunday night, according to Danny Royer.

“They have some big stars on their team and they showed up the entire season, but that means we have to show up as well and to bounce back after Columbus will be important and really intense, definitely,” Royer said. “The way they play will be really difficult to defend, but we’ll have our game plan ready.”

And all those high-stakes matches could pay off in the end for the Red Bulls.

“Those moments could help us to have a good game under pressure and those times will come in the playoffs for sure,” Royer said.

The New York Red Bulls have placed defender Tommy Redding on season-ending injury reserve. Redding underwent successful surgery to reconstruct his left shoulder last week with team doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery.

Additionally, Vincent Bezecourt suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee during the USL match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on July 27.
