Robert Loggia has passed away age 85

The legend in the acting and cinematography on the big screen a veteran Big star passed away of age 85 this evening. His wife Aubrey Loggia told The Associated Press that Loggia died Friday at his home in Los Angeles after a five year battle with Alzheimer’s. 

Loggia was known for playing tough guys and mobsters and earned an Oscar nomination for his performance in 1985’s thriller Jagged Edge. He also appeared Independence Day and countless TV series like The Italian’s  well known drama SopranosMagnum.

He played on screen tough guy reputation, one of Loggia’s most memorable roles was as toy company boss Macmilan to Tom Hanks’s Josh in the 1985 comedy Big. And more specifically, the actors’ famous dancing on the piano scene where they played “Heart and Soul” and “Chopsticks” on the giant floor piano at FAO Schwartz.

He was married with Aubrey for 33 years, both have three grown up children, Tracy, John and Kristina. America lost great actor and father, RIP, will be missed.
