According to USA Today’s interview “We would worry about her as a kid, but Ron was never concerned. He knew she was destined for big things and he would always say that. They were very close and his memory is still very important to her.
Rousey’s father Ron died when she was 8, Ron committed suicide in 1995, having suffered from depression after sustaining a back injury that failed to heal properly due to a rare blood disorder.
But his influence on his daughter is still ever-present heading into Friday’s UFC 207 main event against bantamweight title-holder Amanda Nunes.
