Slovenia v Portugal football friendly
|Balkan — (February, 15, 2023) The Slovenia’s national men’s football team will host Portugal for a friendly fixture at Stožice Stadium on 26 March in the run-up to the UEFA Euro 2024 tournament in Germany in June.
This will be the first time ever for the two sides to meet for a match. Slovenia was scheduled to host Portugal in 2020 but the game was postponed indefinitely due to the Covid pandemic.
Currently number 7 in FIFA ranking, Portugal features some of the world’s biggest football starts, including captain Cristiano Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Bruno Fernandes.
Radenko Mijatović, president of the Football Association of Slovenia (NZS), confirmed the high-profile friendly match Slovenia will play against Portugal, March 26, 2024.
Four matches before the Euro 2024, and one of the opponents in March will be Portugal! The European champion from 2016 the Portuguese defeated the host France in the final in Paris will visit Ljubljana on Tuesday, March 26th.
The start time of the match is not yet known, but NZS has revealed that tickets for the highly anticipated match, where the football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to play, will go on sale in the first half of February.
