Times Square New Year’s Eve 2024
|New York (December 31, 2023) — Hundreds of thousands people flooded at the Times Square to watch New York City’s iconic ball drop on New Year’s Eve 2024.

Earlier this week, the giant 2024 numerals were hoisted into place atop One Times Square, and the nearly 12,000 pound ball got a bow tie makeover.
The celebration started around 6 p.m. when the ball was raised to the top of the flagpole atop One Times Square.
Then, at exactly 11:59 p.m., it will make its 60-second descent to ring in the New Year.
For drivers, streets will be closed starting at 4 a.m. Sunday. Seventh Avenue will be shut down between 42nd and 48th streets, and side streets will also be closed from Sixth to Eighth avenues.
Then at 11 a.m., Seventh Ave. and Broadway will be shut down between 38th and 59th streets.
