Toronto FC are 2017 MLS Cup Champions

Unbelievable finish by Toronto FC today’s match, with Toronto FC wrapping their record-setting season with its first MLS Cup championship, the city of Toronto will celebrate it’s Major League Soccer Champions with a downtown parade followed by a fan rally at Nathan Phillips Square beginning at 11:45 a.m.

The parade will depart from Maple Leaf Square on the west side of Air Canada Centre at 11:45 a.m. before traveling up York Street, east on Front Street, and again north on Bay Street to Toronto City Hall at Nathan Phillips Square for a celebration rally from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

“This season has been magical from the very beginning and the support from our fans and the entire city has been an important part of our success,” said Toronto FC president Bill Manning. “Our primary goal this season was to deliver a championship to Toronto and our fans and we can’t wait to share this moment, and the MLS Cup, with everyone on Monday.”

The championship parade will feature open-air double decker buses carrying the team and the MLS Cup along with the BMO/TFC Santa Claus Parade float and Toronto FC’s supporter groups marching before arriving at Nathan Phillips Square for the fan rally. Fans are reminded to dress warmly and to wear red in support of TFC.

“On behalf of the entire city, we offer our congratulations to Toronto FC and its fans on a historic Major League Soccer season capped by this impressive championship, making BMO Field the home of champions in 2017,” said Toronto Mayor John Tory. “It is a great day for the club and our city and we look forward to celebrating it together on Monday.”
