TORONTO FC RE-SIGNS BENOÎT CHEYROU
Toronto FC announced Wednesday that the club has re-signed midfielder Benoît Cheyrou.
Benoît Cheyrou is a French football player who plays for Toronto FC in Major League Soccer. He plays as a central midfielder and often acts as a deep-lying playmaker for the attack. Cheyrou is known for his vision, distribution, and assists.
“Benoit has been an important player for Toronto FC over the past two seasons, and he is part of our core group,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “His wealth of experience has helped us throughout the season in both the regular season and playoffs in what was a historic year for the club. We are very excited to bring him back to Toronto FC.” Cheyrou, 35, completed his second season in MLS and with Toronto FC.
He has made 52 appearances,
scoring three goals with nine assists across all competitions (MLS league play, MLS playoffs and the Amway
Canadian Championship) for TFC. Cheyrou originally signed with Toronto FC on January 29, 2015.
