Toronto FC two players to US National Team
|Toronto FC has announced that midfielder Michael Bradley and forward Jozy Altidore were named to United States Head
Coach Bruce Arena’s 32-man roster for the annual January camp and a pair of friendly matches. The U.S. will meet Serbia on Sunday, January 29 at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California and Jamaica on Friday, February 3 at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Bradley, 29, appeared in 30 matches, registering two goals and five assists for Toronto FC during the 2016 season across MLS league play and the MLS Cup playoffs. He was also named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 8. Bradley has earned 126 caps scoring 15 goals for the U.S. throughout his career.
Altidore, 27, appeared in 29 matches, registering 15 goals and nine assists for Toronto FC during the 2016 season across MLS league play and the MLS Cup playoffs. Altidore set an MLS Cup playoff record becoming the first player to register five goals in five consecutive matches. He was also named to the MLS Team of the Week on three occasions (Weeks 24, 27 & 28). Altidore has earned 99 caps scoring 37 goals for the U.S. throughout his career. Altidore was recently named U.S. Soccer’s 2016 Male Player of the Year. This marks the second time Altidore has won the award. He won his first U.S. Soccer Male Player of the Year in 2013.
