Tyler Adams might to Leipzig

The New York Red Bulls midfielder Tyler Adams moving to Red Bull Leipzig, according to sources.

Back on May 20th of this season Once a Metro reported that Tyler Adams had a deal with sister club Red Bull Leipzig that he was going to move to the German Bundesliga club at the end of this 2018 MLS Season.

But before we get to the update, here is the article that was oringinally published.

Every time you watch this Red Bulls squad perform in front of you at Red Bull Arena or on the television on the road, you see what this club has tried to do with the players they sign within the NYC Tri-State area to groom them to become important players.

They start off at the Red Bulls Academy, then to the youth teams, their Under 23’s of the PDL, then to their professional seasons with their USL side, which helps them develop to their big opportunity to the MLS side and play with those who also started the same way.

But for one of those players who went thru that process and just started their National Team career, there are moments when you wonder when they will make that big move across the Atlantic Ocean and head over to Europe.

From Kristian Dyer of Metro NY Newspaper and MSG Network Tyler Adams is close to making a move to the German Bundasliga and play for Red Bull Leipzig. For Adams this move would really enhance his level of performance for the National Team, but it would add to his great play on the field as a defensive and attacking abilities he has shown on the pitch.

Already won a Title back in 2016 as a member of the first USL side being owned from an MLS team with Florian Valot, Vincent Bezecourt, and Derrick Etienne Jr. and celebrating the championship inside Red Bull Arena after defeating Swope Park Rangers five goals to one.

Since his start with the likes of Bradley Wright-Phillips, Sacha Kljestan, Luis Robles and Daniel Royer, Adams has proved that he was already comfortable performing with the big boys as the Wappingers Falls, NY Native has already scored two goals last year against DC United on September 27th and scored against Club Tijuana in the Quarterfinals 2nd leg of this past CONCACAF Champions League.

In the report either Adams makes the move after the World Cup, or he will make the move after the end of this MLS Season, but no matter when he makes the move, he will no longer be on the big stage of MLS as he will face competition against some of the bigger clubs in Germany.

He will also face fellow Americans like Christian Pulisic of Borussia Dortmund, Josh Sargent of Werder Bremen, Weston McKennie of Schalke and Julian Green of Stuttgart who have been called in to the USMNT camp for the friendly this coming Memorial Day evening game against Bolivia at Talon Energy Stadium in Chester, PA.

But seeing him day in and day out at training and at Red Bull Arena, knowing his personality I believe Tyler Adams will quickly become comfortable when this move will be made and he can adjust to anything that is in front of him.

But because he is staying within the Red Bull family of clubs, it will continue to feel like home for him. So all I can say when this move is officially made is congratulations Tyler and I hope you will find success quickly in Germany.

Now here is the update that has been reported by Sam Stejskal of MLS Soccer .com Tyler Adams is heading to Leipzig on a $5 Million Dollar deal and he will remain with the New York Red Bulls towards the end of this MLS Season.

So both him and Jesse Marsch will be together at the Bundesliga club in the future and hopefully they will find success with Leipzig, but let’s not put a countdown clock on this situation. Enjoy the moments watching this US National Team superstar playing at Red Bull Arena.
