Skopje, Macedonia (Mar 26, 2024) — Macedonia to 21 defeated by Sweden The national team of Macedonia under the age of 21 lost 2:0 to Sweden in a qualifying match for the European Championship that will be held in Slovakia in 2025.
The chosen ones of the coach Dragi Kanatlarovski played with one less player for almost the entire second half. Right back Mihail Dimitrievski earned a straight red card in the 47th minute after carelessly and sharply starting on an opposing player.
The opponent managed to break our resistance and scored the first goal in the 67th minute. Rosengard with a dose of luck managed to shake our net. Wihelmsson in the last moments of the meeting made the final 2:0.
Macedonia played a good game even with one less player, especially in the defensive part, but could not do anything more with one less player. Mario Ilievski and Hamza Ramani had the two best opportunities in this meeting to score a goal.
With this victory, the Swedes are back in the race for European Championship qualification. Macedonia has recorded two victories and four defeats in the qualification so far.
