NY Cosmos win over Fort L.S, 2-0
The New York Cosmos Hampstead (August,2, 2015) Sunday’s night game great win by Leo Fernandes and Hunter Freeman gave the Cosmos an important win at Shuart Stadium.
Hunter Freeman in 27-minute goal made lead NY Cosmos to a 2-0 over the Fort Lauderdale Strikes. Freeman appeared to play a cross toward the back post, gave the lead Cosmos in the first half. Great benefit in his doubt, like veteran acknowledge by his teammates.
During 43 minutes Raul turned the ball perfectly notch to Fernandes who slotted past Ford and inside the far post from eight-yards and made lead, 2-0.
Head coach Giovanni Savarese said “The plan was to attack immediately and the Cosmos did just that. The home side threatened right off the opening kickoff as Raul latched onto a Walter Restrepo cross off the crossbar inside the first minute, and second header by Flores rolled wide of the far post.”
Great win by NY Cosmos (1-2-2, 6-7-1), already pinched playoff spot by winning the spring championship, it was the first game in a stretch of three in seven days.
Wednesday, Cosmos will face Minnesota United FC at 7:30.
