New York lost, bad start of the second consecutive game this season

The New York Red Bulls bad start against Montreal Impact, 3-0, during Saturday afternoon’s game at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

Dominic Oduro, Ignacio Piatti, and Anthony Jackson-Hamel all scored for Montreal in the second half.

New York lost its second consecutive game to start the 2016 MLS Season with a 3-0 defeat to Montreal at Olympic Stadium. The Red Bulls have scored 38 goals in March all-time and have conceded 44 goals during the month. New York goalkeeper Luis Robles played 90 minutes for the 108th consecutive MLS regular season game, the second-longest streak in MLS history.

Red Bulls captain Dax McCarty made his 250th league appearance on the day. McCarty, now in his 11th season, is fourth all-time in New York franchise history with 144 appearances for the club. It was McCarty’s 139th start in a Red Bulls kit, a category in which he is second only to Mike Petke’s 158 career starts.

The next game Red Bulls will returns to action Saturday, March 19 at Red Bull Arena vs. the Houston Dynamo. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with live coverage in English and Spanish on MSG 2 and Red Bulls Radio on TuneIn.
