NY Cosmos has new Partnership with Northwell Health
|The New York Cosmos announced today that Northwell Health will
be their Official Healthcare Provider, with three of their orthopedic surgeons serving as team physicians.
As part of the agreement, Northwell Health (formerly North Shore-LIJ Health System) will provide medical services for the Cosmos’ first team and the Cosmos’ B team squad, as well as becoming the first presenting sponsor and healthcare service partner for the club’s Training and Development
Program. “Northwell Health Orthopaedics is excited to announce our partnership with the New York Cosmos as their official orthopaedic providers,” said Nicholas A. Sgaglione MD, professor and chair of the department of orthopaedic surgery at Northwell Health, and at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine. “We are honored that the 2015 North American Soccer League champions recognize our commitment to treating athletes at the highest level. As national and regional leaders in sports medicine, our team of specialists is dedicated to providing expert care to both local and professional players. We look forward to our partnership and a great 2016 season.”
Dr. Sgaglione will serve as the Cosmos’ medical director, while Andrew D. Goodwillie, MD, and
Randy M. Cohn, MD, will be head team physician and associate team physician, respectively. We are very excited about working with Northwell Health,” Cosmos Chief Operating Officer Erik Stover said. “They have a great network and through this partnership they will help us maintain high quality treatment for our players, avoiding injury where possible along with fast and effective recovery.”
