Man killing eight people truck attack in NYC
|According to Authorities spokesmen told on Wednesday that the 29-year-old man accused of mowing down pedestrians and cyclists on a Manhattan bike path, killing eight people in a truck attack in New York on Halloween’s day afternoon.
The Officials identified the suspected attacker is a native of Uzbekistan who moved to the United States in 2010, Sayfullo Saipov.
A legal permanent resident of the United States who arrived in the country from Uzbekistan in 2010 through in the diversity visa program. Authorities told to CNN sources, Saipov was influenced by the Islamic State, also known as ISIS, and its violent tactics after he came to the United States.
Saipov left notes pledging his allegiance to the group, authorities said, though they have not identified any direct connections between Saipov and the organization.

Saipov’s notes were handwritten in Arabic and contained a combination of symbols and words saying essentially “that the Islamic State would endure forever,” John Miller, the deputy New York police commissioner for intelligence and counter-terrorism, said at a news briefing on Wednesday.
Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov bounced around parts of the US for several years, with sources telling CNN he has lived in Florida, in addition to stints in Ohio and New Jersey, where he worked as an Uber driver for the last six months, according to the company.
On Tuesday, according to police, the 29-year-old drove a rented pickup truck down a busy bicycle path near the World Trade Center in Manhattan, killing eight people and injuring almost a dozen others.
After crashing into a school bus, he allegedly left the vehicle brandishing a pellet gun and paintball gun. He was shot by a police officer, and rushed to the hospital where he underwent surgery.
