POLISH PRESIDENT DEMANDS GLOBAL ACCOUNTABILITY REFORM AT 81 UNGA
New York, NY (September 23, 2026) — President Karol Nawrocki of the Republic of Poland addressed the General Debate of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly today, delivering a comprehensive and firm address focusing on security architecture, international justice, and structural global reform.

President Nawrocki identified a “lack of justice” as a fundamental flaw in the modern international order, warning that unpunished violations invite repeat aggression. He explicitly condemned Russia’s neo-imperialist policies and hybrid campaign against European stability, which includes sabotage, cyber attacks, and engineered migration crises. He stated that the lack of concrete consequences for international violations undermines global trust and emboldens bad actors globally, emphasizing that global stability hinges entirely on the enforcement of territorial integrity and international boundaries.
To counter these ongoing threats, the President affirmed that Poland is rapidly expanding its military and modernizing capabilities for robust deterrence, while reaffirming NATO as the ultimate guarantor of European security. Highlighting Central Europe’s economic dynamism, he called for the region’s inclusion in the G20, arguing that economic weight must translate into a seat at the table. He also addressed domestic resilience, advocating for pro-family demographic policies, realistic environmental rules that preserve economic competitiveness, and a two-state solution for peace in the Middle East.
